File Liens Electronically Electronic Lien Filing Filing a lien electronically with EDEX will assure your lien is correctly placed on file with the WCAB. EDEX provides electronic verification of the lien filing the same day it is filed. After receipt of verification from the WCAB it is still necessary to serve a paper lien document on all parties in the traditional manner. CompData software will print the paper lien document, proof of service, and mailing labels for service on all parties desired. Electronic lien filing eliminates the necessity
of serving the WCAB the paper lien document. Furthermore, there
is no reliance on the WCAB staff to correctly process your lien
and record your lien claim in the official party list. Electronic
lien filing automatically records your lien in the official party
list assuring you will receive service of all WCAB generated documents.
Optionally, an electronic lien can also provide automatic electronic
notification through EDEX of all case activity; (same day recorded)
and electronic notification of all scheduled hearings. (same day
they are placed on calendar) Amending a lien amount can also be
done through EDEX electronically.
