To subscribe to CompData’s online EDEX inquiry service, you need to first register with us. Next, download the State of California EDEX document, "EDEX Client Acknowledgment Of Legal Constraints On Access To Information And Use Of Information" form (not required for law firms or an actual party to the case).

Return the completed forms to CompData by mail or FAX.

CompData requires a one-time registration fee in the amount of $25.00 which also includes two inquiries. When you have completed the state form(s), enclose your registration payment and mail both to CompData. Upon receipt, CompData will secure a state EDEX Client ID number for you and each additional client account you have submitted. This process will be completed within one week unless otherwise specified.

All fees for filing inquiries online must be prepaid. Each inquiry placed will be debited against your prepayment.
All prepaid fees including the registration fees are non-refundable.
CompData accepts all major credit cards.

Inquiry fees are as follows:

$ 25.00 prepayment provides 10 inquiries (minimum) *
$ 50.00 prepayment provides 20 inquiries
$100.00 prepayment provides 40 inquiries
$300.00 prepayment provides 120 inquiries
$500.00 prepayment provides 200 inquiries

*All online Inquiries are priced at $2.50 each with a minimum purchase of 10 inquiries.

Example: A $50.00 initial payment will include your registration fee and provide you with 10 inquiries (2 free with your $25.00 registration and 10 with the $25.00 prepayment).
